Changing Soundscapes is a project documenting the changing lives and changing soundscapes of inhabitants of Leidsche Rijn, a new "Vinex" town west of Utrecht in The Netherlands. Renate Zentschnig interviewed and recorded 16 people from all walks of life and ages. We edited their stories together with sounds recorded on location into 16 short pieces, which can be heard while sitting at the Changing Soundscapes sound table. This table is now making the rounds of youth centres, libraries, schools and other public locations in the area. The table, incorporating a stylised map of the area, was designed and built by Jan Hoogervorst. Commissioned by Barooni for the program "Avontuurlijke Muziek in Leidsche Rijn"
